A beautiful way to learn the months; a beautiful day for a picnic

Kicked aside nearly a foot of leaves and pointed to green grass and said "Look! SubHAN'allah! This grass is covered with leaves, yet it is still green. Who makes that possible! Only Allah can make this grass stay alive without light!". And I was humbled

Winter picnics. Very refreshing.

Very brave I'd say, it's freezing here! Roll on the snow. Elle
No not brave, Elaine - *desperate* for them to stop bouncing off the walls!
lovely - profound kids :) Don't think I'll be braving a picnic here yet though... still no snow this season - most odd.
Winter??? Middle o't summer is that oop on't moors. I'd be out in me bermuda shorts....
It looks really lovely and peaceful. Your kids love nature and that's very special.
Elsa Beskow - I grew up with her books, and loved them. But there's too much christmas etc. in them, so I haven't introduced them to my kids.
Mum always says: There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes.
Yours are well dressed, mashaa Allah. Not many things beat a hot chocolate in the woods :)
Beautiful book. And ooh, am inspired by your picnic.
Elsa Beskow - yes I purposely avoid anything overtly christmassy but my kids know that people celebrate xmas and we dont so it isn't such a big deal. They say "oh poor them, dont they have Eid??" :P I think the centring on the seasons brings a good rhythm into our lives.
Yes your Mum is absolutely right! Sensible lady.
Glad picnic inspired you Gill. Make sure your well wrapped up - my toes were freezing through my Doc Martens by the end of it all. :D
