Nature Journals

Inspired very much by this book, nature journaling has taken a hold in this little bunch of homeschoolers.

Too often when we are immersed in nature we rely on the camera to capture our memories, to capture the details. By resorting back to pen and paper not only are the boys' drawing skills being fine tuned, but more importantly than that, so too are eyes. We stop more; we notice more. We look for the details to document.

Even I have been drawn in and slowed down by the process...

The basis of any deep thinker, any scientist of note, is to able to form the right questions, and then seek relentlessly the answers.

Stopping awhile and noticing more, it would amaze you at the questions that arise, at the curiousity it generates, at the answers that are sought.
